Michele’s been in New York since 2007 perusing various art forms like filmmaking and writing/performing comedy but her ultimate passion has always been art. She began digitally but made the switch to analog in an effort to better connect with her ideas. She works mostly with mixed media and acrylics. She became a member of BCC in 2018 and the rest is history.
Her work explores many elements of human emotion and the ways in which we mask our true feelings with the ones we’re told are acceptable, causing us to be false and unrecognizable to even ourselves. She often works by “cutting” around the images she wants to save with paint creating a collage feel without physically cutting and pasting. She also collages with her own drawings mixing them with images pulled from magazines and newspapers.
