Who is Morgan Jesse Lappin
Morgan Jesse Lappin b. 1979 is a visual artist, designer, client manager and curator born and raised in NY. Lappin first started creating collage art in 2007 for a clothing company creating original designs. In 2008, Lappin moved to Brooklyn and began working with vintage publications to create contemporary collages, quickly involving himself in as many local art shows as possible. While doing so he fell in love with curation and began to curate his own multi-faceted immersive art events.
In 2009, he took a leap into the world of gallery and interior design firm management for a major storage and shipping company in Brooklyn. During this time, he worked with top design firms such as Peter Marino, Lee Mindel, and Yabu Pushelberg.
Eventually in 2013 the Brooklyn Collage Collective was born. The BCC has exhibited all over the world and has a strong global presence amongst collage makers and collectors alike.
In 2018, Lappin was chosen as a guest speaker at Kolaj Fest, a multi-day festival & symposium about contemporary collage and its role in art, culture, and society. In 2020 he teamed up with Skillshare collaborating on his popular online collage art class, the Collage Universe. Since then he has been curating art exhibits in NYC, creating collage work, and spending time with his pug dog Molly.
